The role:

We are seeking a highly self-motivated qualified Heavy Stream Diesel Mechanic with a strong background in diagnostics, servicing and repairs to guide and lead a hardworking and dynamic workshop team of eleven mechanical and administrative personnel.

 

As the Workshop Supervisor you will be located at our Murray Downs Branch and will report to the National Fleet Maintenance Manager.  You will be ready to take immediate responsibility, pride yourself on excellent time management skills and exceptional customer service. 

 

Working Fulltime, you will be required to take calls for after hour callouts for emergency breakdowns of fleet trucks.

 

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Workshop Supervisor working with trucks and trailers in a similar role;
  • A fair and professional leader who maintains an inclusive working environment
  • Essential Trade qualified in the repair and maintenance of heavy vehicle trucks and trailers
  • Exceptional communicator who possesses a genuine desire to be a team player
  • Encourage best practice and transparency in automotive diagnostics, servicing and maintenance
  • Transparency in reporting, comfortable with electronic workshop systems and utilising company efficiency tools
  • Experienced in high level, timely and quality decision making under pressure
  • Ensure all mechanical activities and workshop tasks undertaken are conducted in accordance with the NHVAS regulations, Occupational, Health & Safety standards and regulations and Environmental system and Road and Transport statutory requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a sincere focus of running an efficient workshop
  • Manage and conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis to ensure employee safety awareness and compliance
  • Compliance with PTGs Integrated Management System (IMS) relating to workshop/fleet operations
  • Sound computer and administrative skills
  • Weekly payroll reporting, rosters and timesheets
  • An eye for detail
  • Evidence of ongoing training and development you are qualified in

 

Key requirements, the ability to perform physical tasks of the role including bending, manual handling and manual labour.

 

You will be required to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol and full medical testing.
