Your Employer

National company with HQ in Sydney with 5 branches in Australia, The Australian owned and operated company specialising in water tanks and storage solutions for Household, Agricultural and Commercial use. They are seeking to employ a Branch Manager in the Innisfail branch. This branch is a new addition to their portfolio, hence seeking someone who can lead people as well as build a creative culture amongst the 12 staff. The branch is responsible for sales, production, and delivery.

The Role

As the Branch Manager is expected to plan, organise, lead, and control the daily operations of the Branch.

This will include the management of sales and office staff, and the planning and execution of the overall sales activities to achieve sales and profit objectives. This includes overseeing the manufacturing of products within quality standards, time schedule, and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve the Branch's sales revenue and EBIT budgets each year ensuring the working capital (Debtors and inventory) stay within budget.
  • Develop in conjunction with the local team, the Managing Director, and CFO the Branch's budget and annual business plan. This includes a local sales and operations plan. 
  • Lead and manage the Branch sales, administration, production, and delivery teams to ensure budgets are met, customer service levels are exceeded, quality products are made, efficiency is improved, and staff are safe and satisfied.
  • Review and act on the Branch performance data (financial, sales, production, and activity reports) to ensure targets are met and productivity is improved. Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and implemented.
  • Leads the sales process ensuring the external sales team and the internal salespeople achieved their targeted sales budgets. This includes the development of new sales leads. To develop close relationships with major customers in their sales Branch. 
  • Ensure the quality of all products is within specification and that the service levels to all customers are the best in the market. This includes the monitoring of customer satisfaction and the follow-up or any customer service issues.
  • Lead the implementation of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) system in the state and ensure all staff follow the companies WHS policies and procedures and operate in a safe way. As a member of the team, there is an obligation to personally observe all WHS regulations in the workplace.
  • Communicate and lead the local department heads and communicate with all the company's direction and objectives and the company's values

Key Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in business engineering or sales and marketing would be ideal
  • Senior management experience with strong leadership qualities
  • Project management experience
  • Sales and operational management experience
  • Ability to interpret & analyse internal reports
  • Financial acumen
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Computer literate  
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Solid experience in training & developing staff
  • Proven sales experience - including achieving KPIs
  • Exceptional operation experience ideally within the manufacturing industry, with the ability to organize & complete project
  • Excellent time management skills
