Norco is a 100% Australian farmer owned dairy co-operative which distributes across Australia and exports to Japan, US and China. With a firm growth agenda, the company has 5 manufacturing sites across NSW and QLD, annual milk production of circa 200 million litres, turnover of approximately $700M & circa 1,000 employees.
Norco manufactures a broad range of fresh milk, flavoured milk, ice cream, cream, yoghurt, custard, cheese and butter products for the retail and food service sectors. Norco milk brands include "Norco", "FM", "Mighty Cool", "Real Iced Coffee" and "Tornado Shake". The company also produces "house brand" private label milk & ice cream.
Norco scored 32 awards at the prestigious 2019 Australian Dairy Industry Association Awards (DIAA) of Excellence, including 3 champion awards and 9 gold medals. And at the recent 2020 DIAA of Excellence Norco scored another impressive 20 awards, including 6 gold medals.
Norco has experienced significant growth over recent years and is poised for further growth in the coming years. To support this, the company is poised to undertake a significant capital investment program across its 5 manufacturing sites over the next 3 years. The Lismore site will be a key focus for this investment program.
The Lismore Site Manager will lead staff to manage all elements of operations across both ice cream and plastics production along with leading the support functions including maintenance, quality and warehousing.
The position will lead by example, build a strong team and coach individuals to be engaged and to accept accountability and ownership. You will understand how to link teams to business strategy and ensure all staff are aware of and support the overall company objectives. You will also understand how to engage teams to lead them through a period of growth and change.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated career history of leading manufacturing sites within the food or dairy industry.
The ideal person will have built their career experience in organisations where they have developed a strong understanding of best practice manufacturing principles. The successful person needs to know what good manufacturing practices look like and be able to bring that to the Norco business, where they will need to positively engage and influence the team to drive change and improvement within the manufacturing and operations function.
You must also be able to demonstrate a track record of taking safety as first priority and have demonstrated a strong ability to cascade this mindset throughout the manufacturing and operations team. You will need to possess strong leadership qualities (as an influencer, communicator and negotiator) and you will have strong coaching and mentoring capabilities to support the development of the team.
