ABOUT BUSHkids ORGANISATION

BUSHkids is a non-Government, not-for-profit organisation which works within local communities to support the development of children by increasing community capacity through education, prevention and early intervention programs.

BUSHkids Services

Childrens Allied Health Services are delivered at regional Centres based in Bundaberg, Dalby, Emerald, Mount Isa and Warwick, with satellite sites delivering Children and Parenting Support Services in Inglewood, Stanthorpe, Kingaroy/Nanango and Agnes Waters/Miriam Vale.

BUSHkids is the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) Partner in the Community for the delivery of NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) Services for Bundaberg, Rockhampton and Central Queensland areas servicing Emerald and Gladstone; with the Fraser Coast servicing Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Kingaroy and Cherbourg; and the Sunshine Coast servicing Maroochydore and Gympie areas.

BUSHkids also works in partnership with the Department of Education & Training (DET) to provide eKindy in rural and remote Queensland to ensure all children receive good quality early years opportunities prior to entering formal education.

Regional activities are coordinated by a team of support staff located in the BUSHkids offices based in Toowong, Brisbane.

 

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION

This position provides administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the internal operations of the regional Centre; and is responsible for a range of administrative duties, both general and clinical. Duties include the reception area, to promote a welcoming and supportive environment, to ensure that all who call, or visit the offices, feel valued and appreciated.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Reception and telephone duties
  • Secretarial and word processing duties
  • Assist with event coordination, where required
  • Coordinate and assist with centre meetings
  • General filing, archiving and data entry
  • Resource inventory for the regional Centres
  • Coordinate clinical appointments; arranging, cancelling, rescheduling
  • Maintain data and accurate records of client service provision in accordance with medico-legal standards 
  • Creating resources/booklets for therapy sessions and groups including; printing, laminating, binding when required
  • Other administrative duties as the team may require
  • Work on special projects as assigned.
  • Support with drafting reports for funding purposes when needed.
  • Maintain organisational systems and processes.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience providing a high quality service delivery in office environment and administrative support across a range of services.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply structured problem solving approaches and good judgement to analyse, manage and resolve a diverse range of sensitive matters.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent typing skills with ability for transcription, writing and word processing skills
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite Outlook, including scheduling meetings, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Mandatory requirements:

  • Business and/or Office Administration tertiary qualifications, training and/or relevant professional experience
  • Valid Blue Card (Queenslands Working with Children Check) No Card, No Start.

Other requirements:

  • Current C Class Queensland Drivers Licence
