Biomedical Service Technician

We are seeking a motivated, experienced Service Technician who has technical and operational knowledge of medical equipment with a Biomedical Engineering background and experience within the hospital environment. This position is based in Perth, WA.

About the role...

  • Respond to customer technical requests and provide them professional support including on-site repair and workshop repair. 
  • Maintain medical equipment on customer sites to correct National Australian Standards and or Guidelines 
  • Maintain tools and test equipment properly and ensuring they are calibrated. 
  • Complete all planned Preventative Maintenance (PM) service on time and to the levels outlined in the service manual 
  • Complete new installations with required checks and tests. 
  • Maintain all related service documentation and keep all record in applicable system as needed. 
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining both parts and loaner inventories allocated to this location 
  • Training of customers personnel as required 
  • Regular interaction required with all internal contacts within HPA and externally with hospital Biomedical Engineering Departments, IT departments and Installation Contractors etc
  • Comply with the Work Health & Safety Act and its applicable Codes of Practice and Australian standards 
  • Other Duties as required or by capability and licensing requirements 

About you

  • Tertiary degree in Biomedical Engineering 
  • At least 5-10 years experience working within hospital facilities  
  • Previous experience in servicing clinical devices 
  • Technically proficient in the troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of electronic equipment. 
  • Well-organised with ability to function independently with minimum supervision 
  • Outstanding relationship building and communication skills 
  • High levels of motivation, energy and a drive to achieve results 
  • Productive in self-directed environment 
  • Strong work ethic  
  • Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Able to communicate with people on a variety of knowledge levels
  • Willing to learn a wide variety of products so that you can troubleshoot internal and external queries
  • Ability to drive a manual vehicle is desirable
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent resident
