 Overview:

The purpose of the bookkeeper position is to ensure that our daily functions and  accounting work is completed with thoroughness, accuracy and timeliness.  This role is passionate about ensuring all reconciliations and entry is done to help grow our business.  Your work directly enables us to make logical and best practise decisions as a company.  Our bookkeeper is agile, passionate and focused.  You are a vital team member to ensure your financial controller, CFO and CEO can make decisions and actions that are leading the business closer to targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring accounts payable is processed within the same day.

  • Creating and processing purchase orders so that they are accurate and timely.   Aim is for on time payment at all times and all POs requested are processed within the same business day.

  • Deposit and Balance Payment Management from our production team so that all requests prior to 3pm are processed the same day. 

  • Freight Allocations so that our cost of goods sold is always accurate and there are no hold ups for our inwards team. 

  • Management of our large stock holding so that all bookkeeping work is best in class.

  • Supplier Statement Reconciliations

  • Accurate sales processing following all procedures so that the data that is provided/ reconciled is always accurate.

  • Reconciliation of Payment Gateway transactions within 24 hours of cash sweep.

  • Bank reconciliation of business accounts & AMEX with a timely outlook to ensure EOM is always to 5 work days.

  • Month end Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts:

    • Prepayment

    • BAS

    • Accrual

    • Loan

    • Other

  • Keeping thorough record of accounts system & filing so that there are no issues with data leakage or security.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following;

  • Preferably with a Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Preferably training in accounting software

  • Attention to detail 

  • Understanding of Purchase Ordering and Payment Cycle 

  • Self starter and able to set own work. 

  • Continuously seeks improvement

  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft applications

  • Good organisational skills

  • Flexible work attitude and multi-tasking ability

  • Friendly and personable manner

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • High level of attention to detail ensuring quality and accuracy of all tasks

  • Excellent at auditing and reconciling. 

  • Intermediate excel skills

  • 3+ years experience as a bookkeeper

  • Experience with accounting software - Netsuite

  • BAS preparation experience

  • End of year tax preparation experience.

  • End of month preparation and reconciliation.
