Horticultural Account Manager

We are seeking an Account Manager with passion and knowledge of horticulture to lead our Major Commercial Landscape Sales Team. Your goal would be to maintain and create new long-term, trusting relationships with our customers. The Account Managers role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities.

In this role, you will liaise with cross-functional internal teams (including Customer Service and plant production departments) to improve the entire customer experience. This position is full time Monday Friday based in our head office located in Carabooda WA. This role will include; Management of Key accounts within the Landscape Industry. Hosting Technical workshops and presentations for clients. Liaising and building relationships with Landscape Architects.

The preferred applicant would have horticultural, nursery or landscaping experience. Applicants who are quick learners, have a great attitude in the work place and have excelled in a previous role will also be welcomed.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for customer account management matters.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key industry partners.
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
  • Clearly communicate and manage the progress of forward orders and growing contract schedules to ensure quality and timelines are met.
  • Generating, tracking and communicating quoting activities for new and existing customers.
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas.
  • Prepare reports on account status.
  • Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within the industry.
  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.


Key Requirements:

  • Experience in the horticultural industry.
  • Horticultural certification or an equivalent is an advantage.
  • Plant or horticultural arboriculture knowledge.
  • Proven work experience in sales, customer service, project management and the landscaping industry.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to work autonomously.
  • Be able to build and maintain a customer base.
  • The ability to multi-task, with exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Must have sound computer skills.
  • Have a strong work ethic and be a goal orientated, self-motivated team player.
