Scheduling- maintain central calendars, volunteer and staff rosters
Management- look at what needs to be done and assign tasks juggling multiple obligations simultaneously, and taking into account factors such as budget, individual strengths, understanding the details of projects and communicating what needs to be done clearly. This role will provide guidance for all Discovery casual staff and volunteers
Training- team supervising, recruitment, onboarding new staff ensuring full compliance with screening procedures and complete induction processes, induction, training design/delivery and Coordinating efforts of staff to yield maximum productivity. Ensure programs are delivered in an engaging, entertaining and informative way.
Motivating and Maintaining Harmony- Participate in the development of communication strategies to increase volunteer engagement across all programs, make them feel included and important. Spurring people to take pride in their work and aim for greatness
Safety Responsibilities- includes identifying OHS issues, collating OHS reports, carrying out Incident investigations, team member observations, rectify hazards identified with the support of Safety Manager
STEM- enthusiasm for and recognize the importance of STEM community education.
One of the major aims of the team coordinator role is to increase capacity of the organization and to engage volunteers as an active part of achieving Discoverys mission.
Your Background (Key Selection Criteria)
Demonstrated experience in undertaking volunteer / staff recruitment and engagement activities, including communications and training
Well-developed administration skills with a high level of attention to detail and organization skills.
Demonstrated skills in managing, balancing and prioritizing tasks and skills for oneself and others.
Experience in identifying and managing OHS issues
Excellent Customer service and relationship building skills with the clear ability to relate to people of varied ages, roles and cultural backgrounds
Recognizes the importance of fun, engaging STEM community education
Current Working with Children check will be required at time of appointment (provided if not already obtained)
Food Handling (provided if not already obtained.)
Level 2 First Aid (provided if not already obtained.)
Ability to work 8 hours across weekends per fortnight
The position is permanent part time three (3) days a week with the ability to work flexibly. Remuneration of the successful candidate will depend on relevant experience. Organizational induction, ongoing training and learning programs are available to support personal and career development.
