SCHOOL MAINTENANCE PERSON

This is a Full-time position based at Hoxton Park Campus

Malek Fahd Islamic School is a Kindergarten to Year 12 Islamic School with an enrolment of approximately 2800 students across three campuses: Greenacre, Beaumont Hills and Hoxton Park. The position will initially be based at Hoxton Park but may be required to move across campuses. This position is open to all faiths.

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified School Maintenance Person to join our vibrant team to undertake general maintenance matters for School campus buildings and infrastructure including grounds. The Maintenance Person will be responsible for undertaking various trades as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance as per the MFIS Maintenance Plan
  • Horticultural duties in areas such as sports playing fields, garden maintenance and foliage
  • General grounds, plants and building maintenance and operation requiring the application of specific skills
  • Ensure grounds are kept tidy including but not limited to picking up and placement of rubbish/recyclable materials in appropriate bins
  • Ensure all playground areas well maintained
  • Ensure the school is always clean and presentable, involving cleaning of gutters, car park areas, downpipes, paths and other areas as determined by the School.
  • Assist with preparation for school functions including but not limited to Assemblies, Awards Nights, Sport Days etc

  • Other duties as determined by the Principal, Head of Campus , Facilities Manager.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction or  general handyman roles
  • Have a trade qualification in building, electrical, carpentry, mechanical or similar
  • Approximately 3 years experience in similar role
  • Sound computer skills to respond to emails.
  • Ability to communicate well with other staff members, students, parents and visitors
  • Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia
  • Current valid drivers licence and use of own vehicle for business purposes
  • NSW - Working With Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment
