A challenging and rewarding opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Production Technologist to join our Production and Technologist team. Preference is for this position to be based in the Burdekin focussing on the Burdekin and southern mils.
Reporting into the General Manager Production & Technology, the purpose of this role is to provide targeted process engineering technical support to the regional operations an asset management teams for all aspects of sugarcane milling operations.
Some of the key responsibilities for this role are:
Support a continuous drive of safety improvement and compliance
Identify and make recommendation on improvement opportunities to be included in asset management and capital projects
Identify and qualify new and innovative technology to improve the reliability and efficiency of factory equipment
Review and report on factory performance and provide factory equipment performance reports
Provide technical advice and support for site Operational Improvement Plans (OIP's) and capital projects
Contribute to the improvement of operator skills, knowledge and work practices
Maintain the knowledge management process associated with factory equipment and work practices including assisting in maintaining accurate technical resources
Being supportive of change, demonstrate initiative and work well under pressure
The ideal candidate should possess:
5+ years Sugar industry operational experience
Tertiary qualifications in a process engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience
Strong analytical skills
High levels of oral and written communication and practical problem solving skills
A high level of computer literacy
Proficiency in the use of SAP (or similar) software
