Tasmanian Helicopters operates a fleet of 9 rotary aircraft, offering a broad range of services, including precision application services, heavy lifting, fire support, powerline stringing, inspection and maintenance, aerial surveying, photography, tourism, general charter and advanced pilot training.  Tasmanian Helicopters prides itself on a high standard of service, success in this style of operations places significant importance on capable and reliable ground-based support.

  • Reports to the Managing Director, Chief Pilot / Head of Operations, and Lead Aircraft Personnel and adheres to Company policies and procedures.
  • Undertakes and maintains all required ground crew training in accordance with the Company training policies and procedures.
  • Communications throughout the section and ensures co-operation at all levels.


Educational/Vocational Qualifications (essential)

  • Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Hold a current Medium Rigid Driver Licence
  • Mechanical experience and understanding
  • Living within close proximity to our Latrobe base, i.e. Devonport / Latrobe region
  • Interest in Aviation

Educational/Vocational Qualifications (desirable)

  • Current Dangerous Goods transport licence
  • Heavy Rigid Driver Licence
  • Forklift Licence
  • Dogging Licence and experience
  • Mechanical trade

Knowledge, Skills and Experience (desirable)

  • Computer competency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of computer systems and relevant databases
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and to deadline


  • Travel is an essential requirement of this position
  • Flexibility for working days and hours is a must
