We are a busy professional office, seeking a qualified Payroll Officer to join our team.


About the role

Reporting directly to the Accounts/Administration Manager you will be tasked with facilitating all payroll functions from end to end for a core group of 350+ staff.

The role requires a resilient and self motivated Payroll Officer to join the wider Fiance/Admin Management team. You will play a crucial part of the team managing payroll from end to end.

You will have an excellent understanding of interpreting a variety of Awards and Agreements. The role offers great working conditions with free onsite parking and competitive remuneration. The successful incumbent will be rewarded with a fantastic work/life balance. Working 3 days per week.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Single Touch Payroll processes
  • Preparation of ABA files for submission to bank
  • End to end payroll processing for approximately 350 + staff members weekly
  • Calculate various entitlements e.g leave, salary sacrifice, super etc
  • Processing new starters,employment contracts, policies & procedures, terminations and variations to team member employment conditions
  • Addressing payroll queries from employees
  • Prepare payroll reports, end of month and calculate accruals
  • Preparing and lodging PAYG, Payroll Tax, Workcover, FBT, Superannuation
  • Maintaining an up to date understanding of changes and amendments to payroll related legislation and policies

What you'll need to succeed

  • The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of payroll processing, timesheets, Rosters, Superannuation, PAYG Tax, Workers Compensation and termination of employees and the Australian Fairwork system and Award requirements.
  • Have at least 3 years experience in a Payroll Officer role in a medium to large sized business.
  • Ability to read and interpret award pay requirements and break requirements.
  • Understanding of calculating different shift loadings (day, Early morning, Afternoon & Night) preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Package and Office 365
  • Experience in automation and system implementation
  • End to end payroll experience within a larger environment
  • A genuine passion for payroll
  • Experience with time & attendance systems
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Time management skills are essential to meet strict deadlines whilst working in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced level of expertise in using MYOB
  • Experience working with time keeping and payroll software
