Kaebel Leisure Pty Ltd, established since 2003, is a unique manufacturer, producing net and steel products for the playground industry. An innovator in its field, Kaebel Leisure Pty Ltd is seeking enthusiastic, practical, skilled, hardworking fabricators to join our small team in Thornton NSW on a casual basis. 

About the Role

At Kaebel Leisure Pty Ltd the fabrication process involves the making of nets for playgrounds using a variety of ropes, and plastic or steel connectors. This work is completed by hand and with the use of hydraulic machinery for pressing the connectors. 

The right candidate will be able to:

  • Work as a member of a small team manufacturing nets to ensure on-time quality production of customer orders.
  • Measure, cut, press, and fabricate nets using steel wire ropes and plastic or metal connectors following detailed drawings and schedules.
  • Undertake quality control procedures at every stage of the production process, such as verifying dimensions and product specifications.
  • Ensure that all required production related paperwork is completed correctly.

Hours will vary, according to work demand, and will involve providing cover for Personal Leave, Annual Leave and Long Service Leave absences. 

Remuneration will be between $26 to $30 per hour as a casual rate. Rate will be determined by level of experience. 

Skills and Experiences

You must meet the following criteria to be considered for the role:

  • Right to work in Australia.
  • Ability to work in a team or unsupervised.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed schedules and drawings and follow these details in production.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills, in particular the ability to plan a job from start to finish so it is completed on time.
  • Practical skills including the ability to use a range of tools and machinery.
  • Physically fit with an ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift ropes and nets.
  • Good dexterity and eyesight.
  • Drivers Licence Class C
  • Ability to maintain a high level of workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to work on an at call / short notice basis. (Note our hours are 7.30a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon to Thurs and 7a.m. to 1 p.m. on a Friday).


  • Previous fabrication / manufacturing experience.
  • Forklift licence.
