Dobmac Agricultural Machinery is a busy, locally owned, and operated business. We design, manufacture, supply & service specialised agricultural & packing machinery, throughout Australia and New Zealand.

A permanent position at our Ulverstone premises exists for a highly motivated, experienced, and qualified Operations/Production Manager.

About The Role

Reporting to senior management, the role will form part of the leadership team, taking responsibility for managing the busy workshop to ensure projects both onsite and offsite are delivered on time and within budget.

The key duties will include:

  • Driving excellence in delivery of completed projects
  • Driving workshop productivity
  • Identifying suppliers and sub-contractors and managing procurement in line with project requirements
  • Managing client relationships, making sure any queries are dealt with in a timely manner and working to grow existing relationships
  • Ensuring the quality of work of projects is in line with company standards
  • Reviewing current practices and implementing efficiencies where identified
  • Ensuring safe working practices
  • Guiding and mentoring the team
  • Quoting on servicing and workshop jobs
  • Finalising documentation related to workshop processes

About You

We are looking for a person with a proven track record of managing a fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering workshop. Experience in this type of role is essential.

  • Prior exposure to agricultural or pack house machinery or metal manufacturing desired but not essential

  • High level of computer literacy

Current motor vehicle and forklift licenses are required.
