Marathon Health currently operates across regional NSW, the ACT and SA, and is seeking a financial executive with strong commercial skills to identify opportunities and achieve efficiencies from our increasing scale and leverage our assets to support our projected business growth.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will implement system and procedural improvements to ensure accuracy and efficiency of information flow across all facets of the finance function and provide commercial leadership to our operational managers as part of the Executive Leadership Team.
Your success in the role is contingent upon your proven leadership and management skills within a commercial finance role, your ability to nurture and develop a team and to engage with stakeholders; internal and external; towards common goals.

Your skills and experience
Possessing a CA/CPA or relevant business or finance degree is desirable, but not essential to the role. Importantly, you must have experience from a management accounting perspective with a focus on organisational financial strategy.
You will be a leader with strong technical skills, commercial acumen, and a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a growing and evolving finance team. Additionally, you will understand the commercial drivers of a business, be systems savvy and have the ability to help navigate the business through transformation and ongoing growth.
The key to your success will be the ability to be across the functions and accountabilities of the finance team, whilst balancing the need for analysis, growth initiatives and value-add improvement projects.
This role will work closely with all members of the Executive, the CEO and at times, members of the Board which will necessitate excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to develop strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
You will be given autonomy to manage your team. As a pivotal department for the business, this will require in-depth engagement across the whole of the organisation.
Previous experience working in the not-for-profit or health sectors would be advantageous however is not essential.
