Accounts Officer

Accounts receivable/accounts payable and general accounting, Analysis and reporting of financials, Payroll.

The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (Conference) is seeking a dedicated, conscientious and proactive person to fill the position of Accounts Officer.  Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Officer will be responsible for assisting in the financial bookkeeping of the Conference that will involve processing invoices, recording payments, tracking expenses and assisting with payroll.  This is a full-time position based in Braddon, ACT with a total package of $79,000 including salary, annual leave loading and superannuation.

 

As the Accountant Officer, you will be responsible for:

 

  • All aspects of processing of accounts receivable/accounts payable
  • Processing credit card and EFTPOS payments and reconciliations
  • Daily bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, General Ledger/Accounts reconciliation, petty cash reconciliations.
  • Liaising with stakeholders as required.
  • Analysis and reporting of financials
  • Invoicing/Billing for allocated customer accounts.
  • Supporting finance team with Ad-hoc reports & ATO Compliance Reporting.
  • Assisting with Payroll.

 

You will:

  • Hold or be working towards a tertiary qualification in accounting, business or a related discipline;
  • have a minimum of 3 years experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable;
  • have a good knowledge and skills in the use of contemporary accounting applications;
  • have a demonstrated ability to use Excel for financial reporting and analysis and
  • demonstrated ability to work in a small team.
