ENGINEERING SURVEYOR - FULLTIME
PERTH BASED WITH EXTENSIVE TRAVEL
Due to expanding business and successful tenders, AMS is currently seeking applications for the new role of Engineering Surveyor, based from our Perth head office. This professional position is full-time but with frequent travel and site work which will necessitate overtime. Excellent remuneration and allowance offered depending on skills and experience. Essence of the role:
This role exists to plan and safely perform engineering surveys related to the civil design, construction, commissioning, maintenance, and inspection of aerodromes, to assist the engineering team to provide deliverables in a timely manner.
The successful applicant will be regularly required to travel (drive and/or fly) to regional areas, work outside, walk long distances, stand, sit, talk and hear to communicate effectively using a computer and telephone.
Site works may involve operating in harsh environments, standing for extended periods, walking distances of up to approximately 20km per day, lifting up to 30kg and use of hand tools.
Minimum 5 years experience in engineering surveying, ideally working on civil construction projects
A Diploma or Degree in Surveying, or a related engineering discipline
Western Australia Construction Induction (White Card)
Demonstrated broad range of engineering surveying skills related to both pre-construction, construction set-out and as built surveys utilising survey equipment such as electronic distance measuring equipment, robotic survey equipment, total station and RTK GPS/GNSS
Demonstrated experience in the operation of radio-controlled aircraft and drones for surveying purposes
Current RePL or ability to obtain
Demonstrated knowledge of survey control systems and datums with the ability to establish survey control points and perform transformations to work in national and local grids
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of the use of drafting software and standards is highly desirable, for the purposes of drafting various plans and drawings related to aerodrome construction and operations
Well-developed literacy, numeracy, oral and interpersonal communication, and time management skills
Capacity to work on occasion in highly remote environments, sometimes with limited internet / mobile connectivity and as part of a diverse field team
Ability to obtain an Aerodrome Reporting Officer qualification and suitable proficiency in the English language and to obtain an Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (Company will provide training)
Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
Valid Australian manual Drivers Licence
Airport experience is highly desirable but not essential
Applicants must be willing to undergo full medical and be subject to random testing for drugs and alcohol in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulations.
