About the role

As a Building Certifier you will be part of the Building team, and will be responsible for ensuring that building functions undertaken by Council satisfies the requirements of the governing legislation in an ethical, friendly, dignified and professional manner.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring complete and accurate records are captured, created and maintained within the appropriate recordkeeping system in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
  • Determining development applications and building regulatory applications for Building matters in accordance with Council policy, procedures, delegated authority and statutory requirements with respect to the level of competency as defined within relevant legislation for Cadet Building Certifier or Building Certifier
  • Preparation of advice to, and liaison with, internal and external stakeholders, State and Federal Government Departments and any other Statutory Authorities as necessary with regards to program functions.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Building Certifier: Licensed as a Building Certifier (Level 1, 2 or 3) with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission.
  • Cadet Building Certifier: Undertaking studies towards an accreditation with a relevant professional organisation recognised by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission for licensing as a building certifier.
  • Current Queensland C Class Drivers Licence.

This is a permanent full-time role with an attractive salary package Level 2 to Level 6, $63,228 to $97,660.
