Bookkeeper & Administration

The Role. 

You will be responsible for maintaining our company's accounting records. Day-to-day activities include recording transactions such as income and outgoings, payroll and reporting directly to the CEO.  The role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills, both written and verbally. 


About You. 

  • 5+ years experience as a bookkeeper.  

  • Registered BAS agent. 

  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or a Certificate IV in Accounting or similar. 

  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills.

  • Great communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Experience with Xero preferred. 


Tasks Include; 



    • Accounts payable

    • Accounts receivable and maintain debt collection at 30 days

    • Bank reconciliation

    • Preparation of BAS and balancing GST accounts

    • General ledger

    • All end of year procedures ready for accountant - liaise directly with the accountant

    • Monthly manual journals

    • Review financials from accountant

    • Monthly and quarterly transaction auditing

    • Yearly budgeting and forecasting preparation

    • Long term budgeting and forecasting with rolling cash flow projections

    • Debtor payment auditing

    • Maintain monthly invoicing checklists

    • Maintain debt collect at 30 days

    • Pay bills

    • Maintain accurate data base within Xero

    • Assist Directors with EOY tax planning



    • Weekly payroll and ATO STP filing

    • End of year payroll reconciliation and ATO STP PAYG filing

    • Manage Super reconciliation and payments

    • Assist CEO with staff specific documentation and contracts and maintain accurate staff files within filing system and Xero 

    • Set up new staff in Xero, collect staff documentation and file with the ATO

    • Ensure new staff have received onboarding documentation including company policies for review and are aware of their award.

    • Review award rates annually and advise CEO

    • Review industry specific award rates relevant to small business and advise CEO

    • Review and preparation of staff contracts



    • Financial monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis

    • Payroll information reporting

    • Industry specific data collection reporting and analysis

    • Grant reporting.  May required liaising directly with government departments

    • Assist the team with reporting information for awards etc 

    • Monthly budget reports

    • Other reporting as and when requested from the CEO


15-20 hours from our Burleigh Heads office. Start ASAP.
