We are working with one of Australia's largest miners who are experiencing a period of growth within WA's resource sectors. A new requirement has arisen for a Project Engineer to join a collaborative team environment based in Port Hedland.
About the role This is a FIFO role on a 5:2/4:3 (days) roster. We're looking for a hands-on Project Engineer with some (2+ years) involvement in Project Management. Previous heavy haul rail & communications experience are required. The successful incumbent will have demonstratable experience in Project Management.
Reporting to the Superintendent & Lead Engineer - Projects & Modifications - your duties will include:
Project managing a portfolio of delivery phase brownfields Modifications and Small Projects (rail & communications) to the defined scope, budget, schedule, and specifications and in accordance with relevant processes and standards
Responsible for the practical execution of ensuring the projects are delivered
Engaging and coordinating the execution of the works including Operations, EPCM organisations, contractors, government organisations and functional groups
Provide technical assistance and guidance for projects during the ID & Select, Definition and Execution phases
Ensuring that the execution of any modifications and projects has been scheduled in alignment with budget/deadlines
Ensuring quality control of execution activities and that a safe, efficient, cost-effective system Overseeing the work on the contractors and liaising with multiple stakeholders within the project.
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
Hands on experience rather than managing contractors
5 - 10 years resource experience within a resource environment
Minimum 2 years Project Management experience
Formal qualification in Project Management
Electrical Engineering Degree
Good communication skills with the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders
Location Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include; a fully equipped gym, TV lounge and games rooms. Additionally you will have access to the state of the art aquatic and sporting facilities in the town of Port Hedland. All rooms at the villages have their own en-suite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
