Stone Axe Pastoral Company is a producer of Wagyu Cattle which has operations across Australia. An exciting career opportunity currently exists for a proactive and driven person with a passion to be part of a successful integrated premium beef farming operation to join the team in our WA aggregations as part of the Stone Axe management team.
The main duties of the Farm Manager will include but is not limited to:
Assist with budget preparation
Manage and coordinate the cattle husbandry including feeding, yard work, animal health management including health and artificial breeding treatments
Ensure bio-security and quarantine levels kept at a high level
Coordinate daily workload of the farm team
Manage, develop, improve and maintenance of existing infrastructure to support an intensive cattle breeding operation
Liaise with the Operations Manager regarding staff requirements both permanent and casual
Reporting to the Operations Manager WA, the successful candidate will ideally possess:
Proven hands-on livestock management and animal husbandry experience
Knowledge of livestock health and production management principles to minimise mortality and increase productivity
Data collection and individual animal tracking is paramount so experience with livestock inventory systems would be advantageous
A high standard of animal welfare practices
Pasture management experience and feed budgeting skills would be an advantage
Pasture grazing management
Strong time management, communication and problem-solving skills
A sound understanding of OH&S and QA principles
A positive work ethic and be able to work and manage people in a team environment
This role is full-time, and you will be required to work when necessary including weekends as required.
