Vet receptionist and Vet Nurse


Bondi Vet Hospital is growing (again) and we are on the hunt for a full-time experienced receptionist as well as a second role of senior vet nurse. Both positions are 38 hours per week with no afterhours and rotating weekends (around 1 in 3)  

We love our jobs at Bondi Vet we are a fun team that works really hard, good at what we do, practice to the very best of our ability but also like to have a laugh together. We are like a little family (thats now a big family) and believe in looking after each other, our patients and ourselves. We want to find someone that believes their job is the best in the world. We currently have 6 vets and 6 nurses. 

Is it you we are looking for

Veterinary Reception Position

  • Prior experience as a receptionist (nursing background or previous experience in a similar environment such as medical or animal industry is preferred but not essential). Must at very least, have experience on a busy reception desk. 
  • Team player with a warm, friendly and flexible attitude. We believe reception is one of the most important roles in our hospital and act as the face of the hospital when clients first make contact, so its essential that you have a friendly and warm personality. 
  • Someone who is great with people (as well as pets). This is as much about loving pets as well as connecting with owners.
  • Confident, takes initiative and has exceptional customer service skills. We want someone wholl go above and beyond for every little patient. 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks (reception can get very busy and its more stressful than you think!)
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to take direction from Vets and nurses
  • Attention to detail. Essential. 
  • Problem solver that is willing to make reception their own
  • Great computer skills (knowledge of RX Works highly regarded but not necessary)
  • It would also be great if you had some experience in digital community management and know the ins and outs of social media such as tik tok, Instagram and Facebook. 

Your tasks will include but not limited to:

  • Greeting clients as they come into the clinic
  • Checking patients in for consults
  • Answering phones and making appointments
  • General cleaning of reception and waiting room 
  • Follow up phone calls for the vets
  • Booking rep appointments 
  • Stock Control
  • Taking payments
  • Monitoring the emails and responding to them accordingly
  • Balancing the till at the end of the day 
  • Selling over the counter medications, food and merchandise
  • Processing insurance claims and following up patient insurance issues 
  • Social media management
  • Merchandising and creating epic visual creation skills


Veterinary Nurse Position

  • 2 years experience in a paid veterinary nursing position.
  • Able to work as a team and have a positive attitude. Its important you still love nursing!
  • Ability to perform tasks associated with advanced medical nursing, surgical nursing as well as occasionally answering the phone. We often have specialist surgeries, as well as a cardiologist and dentist. 
  • Must be good with people as well as exceptional with pets and animals. That is, must love pets!

Pay is above award and commensurate with experience.
