GP Access After Hours is an established and respected primary health care service provided by Hunter Primary Care.
GP Access after hours (GPAAH) provides comprehensive and quality after-hours medical care and advice to people of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and surrounding areas. We are open when regular GP practices are closed. GPAAH operates via a phone triage (Patient streaming service–Call Centre) and clinic appointment system. Our service is staffed with over 200 local GPs, registered nurses and support staff.
GPAAH is now seeking additional enthusiastic and experienced Administration Officers to work in our Patient Streaming Service (call centre) and clinics. The Administration Officer is the primary point of contact for the GPAccess After Hours Service for the community and other health services and providers.
The Administration Officer commands a high level of skill in data entry, evidenced by efficient accurate collection of demographic and personal information for every patient encounter.
- Reporting to the GPAAH Clinical Services Manager, this position is primarily responsible for:
- Identifying the needs of callers on the phone using best practice triage software, with the support of Registered Nurses
- Accurate patient registration and accounting/billing processes
- Coordination of clinic appointment scheduling within set guidelines
- Other administrative tasks as appropriate
GPAAH shifts are predominantly in the “after hours” period; including weekday afternoons, weekends and public holidays and some overnight hours. The role may be based at one of the GPAccess Clinics or Patient Streaming Service (call centre).
The successful applicant for this position will be required to hold a current NSW Working with Children Check.
