As a result, we have experienced rapid organic growth, and are now looking for an energetic Rail Professional to join our team.

We are looking for a leader for our rail safety and assurance practice who has proven experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams within heavy haul and passenger rail infrastructure delivery projects.

Main duties will include:

  • Lead a team of safety assurance professionals in the delivery of system and safety assurance activities on multidisciplinary rail projects including:
    • Develop System Requirements and System Architecture Specifications from provided client and derived operational, functional and safety requirements
    • Develop System Safety Requirements Specification
    • Conduct Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment activities
    • Develop Project Hazard Log and Risk Assessment Reports
    • Manage Safety Requirements Register
    • Undertake and manage Requirement and Configuration Management activities
    • Develop and manage project specific RAM Analysis plans and processes
    • Develop and manage project specific System Integration plans and processes
    • Develop and manage project specific verification and validation processes and plans
  • Provide client advisory services related to application of System Engineering principles to Railway Technology projects at concept, design and implementation project stages

To be considered for this opportunity you must possess the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified and have significant experience as a Senior Engineer/Safety Assurance Engineer in a railway related system
  • Experience in the application of systems engineering standards such as ISO/IEC 15288 and 24748-1, preferably in the railway environment
  • Experience in rail systems safety assurance and application of relevant CENELEC standards, and safety case development
  • Experience in RAMS analysis, particularly in application of EN 50126.
  • Ability to work with others and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, clients, consultants and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to write concise and comprehensive professional/ technical/contract letters and reports.

You will be highly regarded if you also have:

  • Knowledge and experience in ETCS and/or CBTC rail environments; and
  • Membership of a relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership (such as INCOSE/SESA or similar).
