Kimberley Fire Systems (KFS) has an exciting opportunity for a trainee Fire Technician. We are seeking a new team member for a full time, permanent position. This newly created position would be ideal for someone who wants to learn and build a long term career in the fire industry.
KFS is a Kimberley based business committed to providing our customers with a high level of quality and professional service. KFS performs inspection, testing, maintenance, certification, repairs, system upgrades and installation of all essential fire services throughout the Kimberley region.
This trainee position will eventuate into a field-based role with a requirement to work/travel away from home throughout the Kimberley on a regular basis.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the existing technicians and admin team, this position will become permanent after a 3-month probationary period.
Following training you will be required to work independently to service and maintain fire equipment. In addition, you will be required to make recommendations for equipment replacement or upgrade to meet compliance requirements.
We utilise a cloud-based job management system, providing end-to end industry tailored software which streamlines job workflows and connects field staff to the office.
You will need to have reasonable fitness and be willing to work away from home on a regular basis.
Current manual drivers licence is essential.
You will be required to use your personal mobile phone / tablet for which you will receive an allowance.
Previous experience in the fire service industry is not essential as full training will be given.
Ideally the successful applicant will be mechanically minded, high level of attention to detail and be able to understand and reference applicable Australian standards.
Requirement to be well presented with excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic.
Police clearance: or ability to obtain.
Construction Induction Safety certificate (White Card); or ability to obtain.
Ability to work unsupervised.
