As a maintenance team leader, you are a person who is self-motivated and organised, has a passion for high quality maintenance outcomes and demonstrates great leadership supporting your fellow team members as required to complete their day to day planned and reactive tasks.
You will also have high level technical knowledge of either forge and heat treatment OR CNC and automation to be the plant go-to person in regards to our specialised pieces of plant with a strong desire to continually share and up-skill your team. You demonstrate a strong hands-on approach to maintenance activities, have high ethical standards and integrity and are process driven but flexible to deliver results for the plant.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
Support the maintenance supervisor as directed to develop the facility into an operational environment including building, infrastructure, and all equipment related functions.
Work in conjunction with external service providers and contractors as directed.
Support the maintenance supervisor in the development and ongoing management of the mechanical aspects of the facilities maintenance and service budgets.
Support all mechanical / general maintenance activities on the Maryborough project site including contractor management.
Support in the set-up of the maintenance management system.
Co-ordinate the hour by hour workload of your shift in the maintenance team and as required, revise and re-assign work and substitute for absent team members to meet schedules and priorities.
Breakdowns impacting production are responded to and resolved safety and efficiently to a high quality standard.
Lead your shift of maintenance team members in a way that builds and maintains positive and safe working relationships aligned to the company mission and values delivering efficient quality outcomes.
First port of call as the subject matter expert on specialised items, in particular the forge and heat treatment where you assist team members to resolve advanced technical issues and continually share and upskill your team on these specialised items of plant.
Collaborate and lead problem solving activities with other technical, maintenance and production staff to investigate maintenance issues unable to be resolved by other team members.
Co-ordinate and supervise contract maintenance labour staff as necessary for safe and quality outcomes.
Periodically check team members work for efficient and quality workmanship to maintain high standards of plant and to audit compliance with working to processes and procedures.
Pro-actively collaborate with the operational shift leaders as required to symbolise and demonstrate effective partnering relationships to all production and maintenance team members.
In collaboration with production leaders, deliver toolbox talks/VMB talks in accordance with schedule ensuring consistent and aligned delivery to team members.
Provide effective shift handover communication for consistent and seamless shift leadership.
Support the maintenance supervisor to execute various project, process improvement and leadership activities for the maintenance team as directed by the maintenance supervisor.
Assist in the planning and scheduling of maintenance tasks which may include but not limited to identification to delivery of necessary materials and labour and the creation and maintenance of work orders with information updated in the computerised maintenance management system.
Support the maintenance supervisor to implement change management/company project initiatives with your work team in a highly supportive and encouraging manner for successful outcomes.
Record spare parts inventory requirements.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
Relevant trade qualification
Intermediate to advanced trade experience in manufacturing environment.
Previous co-ordination experience as a team leader
