GTE Group is a specialist Control Systems, Industrial Communications and Electrical Engineering company operating in the mining and industrial sectors. To support our strong pipeline of work we have openings within our core Project Team. We are seeking a Project Engineer with a demonstrated background of managing control system and/or industrial communications related projects.
This role will be responsible for oversight and management of various improvement projects. To be a successful candidate you will need to have a drive to succeed, passion for quality and a willingness to learn and grow with the business. You will ideally have strong management skills and be able to manage your own time as well as the time of others.
This role would suit an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who is versatile and open to trying new & different tasks. Being a quick thinker with high attention to detail and the ability to multi–task is paramount for this role.
Primary tasks include but are not limited to:
Manage budget and schedule for projects under your control
Provide support to the project team
Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
Follow change management processes for performing changes to the site-based infrastructure
Provide support to design reviews, document reviews and TQ’s
Manage the required weekly/monthly reporting
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensure all designs adhere to client requirements as well as industry and Australian standards
Ensure all changes are implemented safely and risks are managed
Ensure site activities are conducted in accordance with client procedures and policies
Participate in safety meetings and programs
Comply with Company code of conduct, policies, standards and procedures
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
A Bachelor of Engineering degree
Working experience of managing control system or communications projects
Site project execution experience
Experience in the mining industry
Familiarity with communication systems in particular Cisco
BHP experience desirable
Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Access, Visio and Project
Valid C-class driver’s licence
Good communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
A self-starter that can work alone
Australian citizen currently based in Perth, Western Australia
At GTE we believe in flexibility and maintaining a work life balance. The successful candidate will have the option of working as a contractor or full-time staff member and the role will offer flexible working hours. The role will be office based with site visits on an as-required basis.
