Bookeeper Tax Preparer - Part Time (25 hours)

This is a highly cool boutique accounting practice who are established niche leaders in the media,TV and Entertainment industry.  Completely non stuffy accounting firm who have a truly flexible and modern approach to their work and processes If you enjoy wearing a suit to work this probably is not the role for you.

However if you want to be surrounded by the best people in this industry and be with a business that brings a modern and fresh approach to the workplace and can offer flexibility with working hours.  Youll get excellent ongoing training and support from an experienced team and there will be an ability to progress as the practice continues to grow.

Some of the responsibilities in the position are below.  It is important that the bookkeeper is up to date with cloud accounting techniques and has finger on pulse regarding updates in new technologies and products in the market that enable clients to benefit from the most efficient service  

  • Reconciling bank accounts and GL Accounts
  • Processing payroll and superannuation obligations on a variety of online products
  • Customer service and help desk for clients using Xero, MYOB
  • Expert use of cloud accounting products and various add ons (hubdoc, one touch payroll)
  • Assisting clients in moving their existing accounting systems to cloud software-based systems, and advising clients on the policies and procedures required to run new systems.
  • Working in-house and at clients premises to assist with bookkeeping, payroll and office management

to summarise:

  • 15-24 hours per week

  • bookkeeper/tax return preparer

  • financial report preparer

  • Familiar with preparation of activity statements

In addition the above day to day tasks it is hoped the ideal candidate for the position will display the following behaviours

  • Good time management skills and the be able to work independently when necessary
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A high level of comfort with new technologies and pro-active about finding benefits available to our clients
  • A dedicated attitude that means you will get your work done correctly and on-time
