Senior Financial Analyst

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team.  This role is responsible for the provision of financial analysis and modelling to support management in their decision making and strategic planning.  Additionally the role contributes to the operational accounting function, in ensuring compliance with financial and statutory obligations. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the strategic decision making process by providing accurate financial analysis including scenario based modelling to senior management;
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for the Fund;
  • Preparation of year-end statutory accounts for the Fund;
  • Preparation and lodgement of APRA returns;
  • Interpretation of changes in legislation, APRA requirements and other critical trends to support the production of forecasts and financial models;
  • Reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger;
  • Assisting with the preparation of budgets;
  • Liaising with internal and external providers including auditors (external & internal), tax consultants and ATO;
  • Reconciliation for the Funds unit pricing;
  • Assisting with business projects as required; and
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Financial Controller or Chief Financial Officer.

Minimum requirements:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or another related field and CA/CPA professional accreditation;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working in financial and management accounting within the financial services industry;
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and statutory requirements;
  • Ability to collect and interpret financial data, including the significance in regards to legislation; and
  • Advanced Excel skills including the use to VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros and other data validation and evaluation tools.
