Business Development Manager - Sydney

We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) who will report directly to the National Network Manager and be responsible for the development of the Sydney client base through introducing new clients to the business.

To be successful in your application you will need to have a strong background in a similar sales role and be able to demonstrate what it takes to successfully build relationships and win business.

Position Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a sales pipeline to effectively achieve weekly sales budget.
  • Source marketplace to provide tender opportunities by effectively prospecting and acquiring new business that meets the organisations target profile.
  • Develop strategies to maximise business opportunities, market awareness and grow market share.
  • Carry out detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis on potential customers and develop strategies to secure new business.

Experience

  • At least 5 years experience in sales related role.
  • An understanding of the end to end logistics function and how to develop these functions for new clients - you understand the meaning of 'value adding'.
  • Knowledge of Transport and Freight Forwarding/Distribution.
  • Knowledge of regional distribution networks advantageous.
  • Proven track record of acquiring and building new business.
  • Strong Sales background in Transport & Logistics Sector essential.
