Account Director

Poncho Productions Pty Ltd are on the hunt for an experienced Account Director with extensive digital project management and implementation abilities to join our Account Service team. You'll hold accountability for managing client relationships and client communication, and most importantly, ensure that we're exceeding client expectations and delivering on their business objectives.

In particular, we are seeking a candidate with extensive digital expertise and experience to focus on and grow our digital offering by managing the Digital & Technical teams in the design and development of mobile app and website projects. Experience in gamification for learning and behaviour change is essential.

To qualify for this role, you need to be flexible, efficient, digital-savvy and always up for a challenge. You will work with the Creative, Digital and Media teams to manage and deliver a wide range of projects from digital design and development, business & brand strategy, campaign management, video production and media strategy & planning. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of clients; from FMCG, Property and Travel, to Government and Retail, and so demonstrable experience in these areas is preferred. Additionally, you would be expected to work on new business development, actively seeking new clients and opportunities and able to write and respond to tenders with a proven track record of success.

About you

You have been at Account Director level for at least 2 years and can demonstrate extensive digital experience and a deep understanding of technical process and implementation, having worked directly with Software Developers and DevOps Engineers. You possess a genuine drive to provide a world-class client experience and feel at home within a fast-paced agency environment.

Responsibilities include:

Account & Project Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients through regular meetings, phone calls and emails
  • Be the first point of contact for client questions and requests
  • Receive client briefs, large and small - fill in the gaps, read between the lines, and ensure they are faithfully communicated with our team
  • Conduct meetings with clients and keep them informed about the current work status of their projects
  • Manage and organise client feedback to ensure it is actioned accurately and in a timely manner
  • Use your knowledge and skills to push clients, the team and the agency in the most productive direction
  • Ensure the creative or digital solution remains faithful to the brief - advocate for the client and our creatives
  • Manage the project budget and achieve deadlines. Where this isn't possible, communicate to the client and your team to ensure any problems are dealt with before they become problems

 

Digital expertise

  • Experience in both waterfall and agile project management methodologies is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Unity3D - animation, level design and planning, Flutter, and experience using both WordPress and Drupal CMS
  • Understand the website and mobile app development process from UX & UI through to launch
  • A deep understanding of the theory of gamification and how it relates to education and behaviour change
  • Have a sufficient understanding of website and app hosting, architecture, and maintenance requirements to be able to write and support Service Level Agreements

Strategy & Branding

  • Understand what strategic branding is and be able to explain the process and value to others
  • Manage the delivery of a visual identity, from concept through to implementation and rollout
  • Conducting research on clients current marketing strategies, customer profile, and market share to develop a strong sense of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to improve brand positioning
  • Successfully translate a brands strategy or story into marketing collateral and advertising campaigns by successfully collaborating with creative teams including web and graphic designers, copywriters, and video production crews

Business Development

  • Actively seek new clients and opportunities - be able to talk to our capabilities and experience confidently and convincingly
  • Identify accounts that might be decreasing in activity and reach out with new opportunities to ensure that they are retained
  • Scope client requirements and develop robust solutions across brand, media and digital, while balancing the needs of the client against the agency's bottom line
  • Produce compelling proposals that meet the client requirements, and manage the procurement process through to an approved project
  • Write and respond to tenders with a proven track record of success
