CHIEF FINANCIAL AND OPERATIONS OFFICER (CFOO)

The national peak industry organisation representing the Australian plant science sector (chemical crop protection products and agricultural biotechnologies), CropLife Australia, leads efforts on behalf of its member companies to ensure an independent sciencebased, efficient and effective regulatory environment that supports innovation and facilitates access to highquality products from the plant science industry.
We are seeking to appoint a skilled and highly-motivated professional to direct, undertake and oversee all aspects of the finance, accounting and corporate functions for CropLife. The Chief Financial and Operations Officers (CFOO) major responsibilities will include:
Lead, direct and deliver financial strategy, budgets, policy and management accounting services, including Board, statutory, audit and other external reporting
Oversee general accounting and reconciliations, compliance management and tax management for CropLife, and CropLifes wholly-owned subsidiary, Agsafe
Develop strategic goals, both financial and non-financial, to drive administration and support from a cost efficiency and service level perspective
Provide high-level specialist advice to the Chief Executive Officer on financial management, budget, governance and compliance matters
Support the Chief Executive Officer in management of human resources and administer HR systems.
Implement and manage CropLifes ICT environment via existing contracts with external service providers, including monitoring new technology and opportunities for operational change, and overseeing the development and improvement of ICT planning/reporting systems
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the CFOO will act as Company Secretary for CropLife and Agsafe. In this role, the CFOO will be required to attend all meetings of the relevant Boards and provide appropriate corporate governance guidance.
The CFOO will report directly to CropLifes Chief Executive Officer and has the Group Accountant report directly to them.
To be successful you will need to demonstrate an effective track record or capability in a number of the following key areas:
Australian CA/CPA qualified
Proven experience in managing finance operations and providing company secretary services
Sound knowledge of, or background in NFP statutory accounting
A proven ability to implement highlevel corporate governance principles, policies and procedures
Well-developed oral and highlevel written communication skills
Excellent advisory and briefing skills, confidence in interacting at Board level and providing guidance and advice to senior management
Demonstrated experience in managing all facets of finance ranging from commercial, financial, treasury, taxation, governance, risk, and corporate finance
Good team player, attention to detail, able to multi-task and prioritise, and be flexible in a fast-paced organisation
The role requires occasional domestic travel.
