Queensland Rail’s Rollingstock Maintenance team provides fleet management, technical support and maintenance services for the City Train, Travel Train and Heritage areas. Currently we are seeking a Mechanical Fitter / Turner to join the team and be responsible for inspecting and repairing our fleet of City Trains and associated components and equipment.
Your typical day will involve ensuring the repair, fault detection and maintenance on all City Train Rollingstock and equipment in accordance with relevant procedures and using current diagrams and test equipment. You will also be responsible for ensuring the input of accurate data into the maintenance system.
This role will require you to work a 4 day week (38 hour week, 9.5 hour days). Shifts will vary from day shift (6:30am – 3:30pm, 9:30am – 7:00pm) to afternoon and night shift (3:00pm – 12:30pm, 6:30pm – 4:00am). These shift times are indicative only and may change. In addition, you will be required to work overtime as required from time to time to meet business needs.
To be successful in this role you must have proven fault finding experience on light and heavy mechanical equipment and a strong focus on safety.
The pay rate is allocated at a base rate of $57,761 plus superannuation, shift and other allowances.

To be considered for this role you must possess an Engineering Trades Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter or hold an equivalent qualification.
