Events Manager

Band 6 $86,199 to $93,960 plus 9.5% Super pro rata for 5 months position

Permanent position and temporary (5 months) position temporary position due to backfill employee on secondment

St Kilda or During COVID-19 Pandemic, with ELT/DHHS direction, this role is able to work from home and is predominantly based online.

About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.  

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced event professional to join our team.

This role is responsible for facilitating the permitting of externally produced events on Council managed land.  You will provide assessment, advice and approval for external event applications.  The role will focus on a cross section of outdoor events, trader activations, markets and promotions.   


Excellent interpersonal skills 

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment 

Demonstrated experience in events and permitting 

Skills and Experience 

The ability to self-manage workloads, communicate clearly and work in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in assessing the risks and impacts of outdoor events

Local government experience essential

The role includes weekend work and flexibility around hours.
