The Position:                 
Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and delivery of Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council’s corporate service functions, specifically finance, audit, governance,  workplace health and safety, human resources, information technology, property management, administration and records.     

Experience and Qualifications: 
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable leader, with a clear commitment to developing positive relationships with staff and the wider community. Additionally, you must possess:

  • Extensive experience in the provision and management of corporate and financial services including risk management, strategic and operational planning, corporate systems management and organisational development.
  • Sound accounting and financial management knowledge with experience in budget preparation and review, financial forecasting and internal auditing.
  • Ability to interpret, administer and comply with the Local Government Act and other relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to effectively lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional organisational, time management and coordination capabilities with proven experience meeting deadlines, compliance requirements and organisational objectives.
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance (or another related field) with a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Current ‘C’ class Drivers Licence, Australian Permanent Residency and willingness to undergo a Criminal History check.

  • Base salary: $145,000 plus superannuation.
