About the role

We are currently seeking a experienced Marine Supervisor to support the growth in our contracting and system manufacturing projects. The position is based in Naval Base, WA and will require occasional travel. Reporting to the Project Manager, this position will play an active role both sales and operational project activities. This role will reward a dynamic and flexible applicant who is interested in seeing projects progress from a lead through to delivery. 

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Support the sales team with project and equipment quotes/tenders
  • Assist the Project Manager in identifying new opportunities
  • Supervise and organize project/equipment jobs through production and delivery
  • Subcontractor management and performance monitoring
  • Coordinate logistic and quality assurance requirements
  • Plan and manage site-based engineering projects
  • Allocate and co-ordinate project resources
  • Work with workshop and site supervisors to deliver successful project outcomes
  • Track and report project commercial performance
  • Oversee project compliance, Non-Conformance Reports and process improvements
  • Work with engineering design capabilities to deliver technical requirements to the customer
  • Fault finding and system diagnostic

Skills and experience

KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • A good technical understanding of marine vessel systems viewed favorably
  • Technical drawing abilities viewed favorably
  • Current trade certifications/tickets desirable
  • Punctuality
  • Defence and commercial Marine supervisor experience
  • Willingness to work "on the tools" as required
  • Willingness to share experience and train employees
  • No objections to site-based work
  • Project planning and risk assessment experience
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously with good time management skills
  • White Card
  • Current Drivers Licence

DESIRABLE

  • Qualifications in leadership and management courses
