Procurement Manager

Lime Recruitment is currently partnering with our client to recruit a Procurement Manager to provide leadership and work with internal stakeholders to develop a mature procurement function throughout the business.

In this role you will be responsible developing fit for purpose procurement systems and guidelines as well as managing a team and undertaking all operational procurement duties.

You will also:

  • Influence the business through proactive partnering, including assisting with the generation of a clear scope of works and preferred sourcing strategies.
  • Develop monthly service level agreements with the business and presenting progress against those agreed targets.
  • Train new and existing employees on their responsibilities with regards to procurement to minimise non-compliance to endorsed guidelines and policies.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external clients. 
  • Provide high level customer service with internal clients, working collaboratively to assist in the achievement of corporate goals
  • Develop and maintain clearly defined and documented procurement processes, aligned to the principles of Queensland Government Procurement Policy
  • Agree with the business units on the most appropriate sourcing strategy, taking into consideration, risk, complexity and value of the procurement activity.
  • Identify emerging risks and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in accordance with the risk management framework.
  • Overseeing the tender submission process, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and policies.
  • Provide input to commercial evaluations to ensure that all relevant factors contributing towards cost/price are evaluated. 
  • Support the business post award, to ensure contract compliance and appropriate contract change management, where variations or amendments are required.


You will have: 

  • Previous experience leading a procurement function within a Queensland Government department/entity/statutory body
  • Experience with a wide range of procurements including building and construction, goods & services, ICT etc
  • Ability to provide strategic advice on procurement performance across the organisation.
  • Experienced in elements of contract management including variation and claims, creation of contracts and contract close out, and advice and guidance on contract content.
  • Experience working with commercial contracts and project management.
  • Working knowledge of the Queensland Government Procurement Policy (QPP) and standing offer arrangements
  • Experience leading and managing direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate rapport with key internal customers and influence positive outcomes.
  • Ability to identify and implement strategies to minimise risk.
