Lantrak has an exciting opportunity for a Safety Coordinator to join our HSEQ Team. This is a fulltime position on a 6-month contract, based in our Ormeau Office. Lantrak operates in the waste and construction space, managing landfill sites and construction sites along with the largest fleet of earthmoving trucks in Southeast Queensland.
Due to increasing growth within our Queensland business, Lantrak is looking for a safety coordinator to support the HSEQ Team. Directly reporting to the Queensland Safety Manager, the role would suit someone who has a genuine passion for safety and is either looking to start their safety career or looking for a career change.
About the role
Lantrak is offering a 6-month fulltime contract with the potential to become a permanent role.
This role is responsible for coordinating and facilitating health and safety activities across multiple sites and will require a large amount of field work. It requires someone with a positive mind set and a professional approach as they assist various Lantrak business units to meet their health and safety requirements.
Basic role requirements include
Supporting the HSEQ team in ensuring compliance with Lantraks safety management system.
Conduct site safety inspections and reporting.
Participate in incident investigations.
Follow up safety incidents and ensure that corrective actions are completed.
Facilitate the development of SWMS.
Deliver new starter inductions.
Co-ordinate training, emergency drills
Assist teams with continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and experience
Minimum Qualifications Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety however a safety degree would be highly regarded.
Demonstrated an understanding of safety principles, legislation, regulations, codes of practice.
Highly beneficial if you have previous experience in the civil construction or waste industry
Certified drug and alcohol tester AS/NZS 4308-2008, AS 4760-2006 and AS3547:1997 would be beneficial.
Strong ability to multitask, meet deadlines and balance priorities.
Demonstrate high-level interpersonal skills, relationship building, be passionate about the health and safety of people, and a team-first approach.
Good written and verbal communication skills are essential
Microsoft office experience
High attention to detail
Must have full work rights in Australia
