Professional Cleaner

CYCA is one of Australia's premier yacht clubs, situated on beautiful Sydney Harbour and home to the iconic Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

We are seeking a reliable, thorough, presentable and professional cleaner to provide a very high standard at the CYCA premises.  

You will be responsible to maintain a safe, clean, comfortable Club environment for Members, guests, visitors and employees in accordance with WH&S.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and Cleaning Supervisor your key accountabilities include though are not limited to:

  • ensuring that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the CYCA as per your roster.
  • clean, dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces, shelves, trophies, displays, fixtures and fittings.
  • sweep floors with brushes or dust control mops.
  • mop floors with wet or damp mops.
  • vacuum clean carpeted areas, and spot cleaning of carpets where needed.
  • replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels).
  • clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks and showers.
  • remove dust and dirt from ceilings and walls
  • safe use of chemicals and use cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed and economically. 
  • ensure that all cleaning equipment is in good working order.  
  • empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated area.  Separation of waste is essential i.e. recycling  of paper, bottles, etc
  • clean internal glass and internal and external glass doors.
  • where practicable ensure windows and doors are closed and lights switched off.
  • report to Supervisor or Manager any defects seen which are likely to affect security i.e. broken/cracked window etc.
  • the cleaner is required to use only approved cleaning materials and in accordance with the manufacturers printed instructions and regulations. Chemicals should never be mixed with other chemicals.
  • be aware of their responsibilities under WH&S for themselves, and other employees.
  • carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job and at the request of the Operations Manager / Cleaning Supervisor.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

This casual role will attract the ClubsNSW Award rate of pay for 32-hours per week. Commencing 22 October 2020 with two-days training followed by a regular roster.
