Finance Officer

 

Scone Race Club located in the Horse Capital of Australia, in the midst of the famous Hunter Valley breeding studs and less than 2hrs from Newcastle and Wine Country, Pokolbin.

With a dedicated, passionate and experienced team, immerse yourself in the exciting thoroughbred industry with this prestigious country club conducting 20 race meetings per year, including the highly regarded Scone Cup Racing Carnival in May.  With picturesque views across the internationally renowned racecourse, the modern Function Centre offers an ideal setting for a variety of events.

The Role:

This progressive Race Club is looking for a Part Time, approx 22 to 28 hours per week, Finance Officer to join the team.  Ideally you will have an Accounting degree and demonstrated commercial accounting experience. However, applicants without formal qualification provided commercial accounting experience is evidenced will be considered. 

Working closely with and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful applicants day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

          Preparation of financial reports, including

-           Debtors & Creditors

-           Payroll

-           Stock Control

-           BAS preparation

-           Completing all other statutory compliance requirements

-           Liaising with Racing NSW and government bodies as required

 

          Management of financial activities, including

-           Financial report preparation for the Board

-           Financial risk management

-           Analysis of data

-           Stock management and controls

 

          Desirable attributes include

-           Willingness to work within a small team and assist in general administration duties across the office.

-           Cost-benefit analysis ski

-           Ability to identify and assist in securing new funding sources.

-           Forecasting company needs

-           Budget management
