We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to help us achieve our mission, is that you Help us continue to break down barriers to healthcare by using technology and innovative telehealth techniques.

About the Role:

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Assistant Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis ASAP. The base location for this role is at our office in Murrarie, Brisbane. 

Your role will be to take ownership of the accounts payable and receivable function, monthly reporting, bank reconciliations, payroll, following up accounts receivable and working with management on improving business processes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely processing of financial transactions into Xero, including AP and AR invoices, daily bank and credit card reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.   
  • Accounts Receivable administration and follow up via phone
  • Generate and issue invoices
  • Allocate payments, perform account reconciliations
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records
  • Accounts Payable administration 
  • Process fortnightly and monthly AP payment runs
  • Reconciliation of vendor statements and follow up outstanding amounts
  • Assisting in review of accounting transactions, end-of-period close-off and management reporting, preparation and lodging BAS, superannuation and payroll tax
  • Filing of documents and various administration tasks as needed
  • Supporting the therapists with billing and other needs

What we are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate for streamlining and automating accounts processes - we are always looking for ways to improve as the business grows
  • Strong written and communication skills as we deal with NDIS clients
  • Self-driven, with an eye for detail and able to work autonomously at a fast pace
  • Proactive in their approach to tasks and responsibilities
  • A team player and a good communicator
  • Already experienced in Xero, Microsoft Excel and Google Docs
  • Degree qualified

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting or relevant other work environments.
