The role is mainly based in the Adelaide office, but travel to Beverley is required for short to longer term projects.
This is a unique opportunity for a self-motivated professional to take on the role of Hydrogeologist specialising in Analytics. Under the direction of the Production and Resource Superintendent and working with the Geology team, the Hydro Analyst is responsible for undertaking tasks for the Geology Department (including production, drilling, exploration and regulatory processes). The position liaises with other high performing teams to ensure integration and efficient operations, including continuous improvement and application of hydrogeology outputs and analysis.

You will have: • A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in hydrogeology, geology, science, or related discipline • Knowledge of mineral kinetics and reactive transport modelling • Experience with GIS and hydrogeological modelling software • Experience in hydrogeological investigation design, conduct and reporting • Knowledge of well design and optimisation • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows & Office software • Excellent analytical, planning, report writing, communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities include: • Develop insights of critical needs and priorities • Design reactive transport models (including mineral kinetics) that can assist in the prediction of production, natural attenuation and exploration • Generating basic to complex models for wellfield design, resource estimation and block modelling • Manage variety of models used for daily analysis of flow paths, optimisation of wellfield performance and wellfield design • Well test analysis for well efficiencies and aquifer properties to improve well design and future production wellfields • Manage hydrogeological databases to ensure accurate charting and monitoring of wellfield performance, and monitoring well programs • Understanding the underlying reasons of predicted vs actual production • Monitor production well performance including pressures, pumping rates and pump failures • Efficiently organize, manipulate and restructure data for routine and rapid analysis • Perform data analytics on a broad range of datasets for business insight and business development • Work in conjunction with the Geology team to planning, schedule and coordinate wellfield and monitoring well programs • Implement the use of correct methodologies in line with regulatory requirements with respect to: o Wellfield balancing & excursion control o Monitor well planning for aquifers & production areas • Effectively communicate wellfield changes with key stakeholders • Project assessments and reports as required • Flexible, willing and able to work at both sites
