Construction Materials Recycling Site Supervisor

Hi-Quality Group, a privately Australian owned family company, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, motivated and disciplined Construction Materials Recycling Site Supervisor who possesses the necessary skills and ability to improve the performance and profitability of our business.

Our company specialises in quarry operations, resource recycling, landfills, waste treatment, and transport and logistics, with operations across NSW, ACT, Victoria and Queensland. The company has been established for over 55 years and is going through a phase of expansion.

This position's location is for the western Sydney region.

Position Overview

We require a Construction Materials Recycling Site Supervisor responsible for the day to day activities associated with a busy concrete and soils recycling, crushing and screening operations and ensure Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements are exceeded.

The successful applicant will be required to

  • Assist in the overall management of the waste site operations and the ongoing development and enhancement of all aspects of the recycling operations
  • Ensure day to day activities are carried out in a manner that ensures the site functions are maintained and operational.
  • Ensure the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the facility in accordance with the environmental licence, planning permission, health and safety legislation and any other statutory controls
  • Control vehicle movements, ensure the safety of and provide advice to all site staff and users, ensure adequate resources are available, build and maintain a team environment, control and supervise staff, control waste levels and ensure all site users obey the site rules
  • Implement production plans to meet the requirements of the business by utilising existing plant, equipment and resources
  • Conduct training as required, including induction of new employees
  • Conduct regular toolbox meetings as per our policy

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

  • Knowledge and experience in the recycling / waste industry and proven knowledge of crushing, screening
  • High level earthmoving plant operation knowledge
  • Be a proven leader with experience in supervising a medium size operation or similar
  • Experience managing government regulator visiting personnel in a professional manner
  • You will be self-starter who has excellent interpersonal and people management skills
  • In depth scheduling, planning and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Composting activities will also be a distinct advantage
