Contracts Manager

Firesafe Group Pty Ltd are a leading provider of fire protection systems to the Construction, Mining, Resources and Government sectors in Western Australia, Victoria and Internationally.

With long term clients covering the Resource and Industrial sectors, Firesafe provide all aspects of fire protection, including wet-fire sprinkler systems, water mist and deluge, special-hazard foam and gas suppression systems, vehicle suppression and dry-fire alarm and detection systems. 

Firesafe are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join the team.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective negotiation and management of contracts
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of contract administration policies, processes, procedures, documents and management plans
  • Interpret and explain contract requirements, and terms and conditions to stakeholders to support compliance with statutory and policy requirements
  • Interpret contract provisions to help resolve claims and questions submitted by contractors
  • Receive requests, obtain estimates, update records, initiate paperwork and follow up on request for approval of work 
  • Monitor compliance 
  • Initiate and conduct meetings 
  • Establish and maintain strong internal/external stakeholder relationships
  • Proactively identify and manage contract risks to meet organisational obligations and achieve the planned outcomes of the contract
  • Monitor contract performance against agreed terms
  • Project Controls 
  • Pre-contracts and project start up
  • Head Contract administration 
  • Prepare and administer subcontract/supply agreements 

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive competency in Procurement and Contract Management
  • Proven experience within commercial construction 
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, quantity surveying, construction law or other relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of requirements for acquiring and managing professional design and construction services in accordance with current Australian Standards
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations regulating building construction
  • Ability to identify opportunities, improvements and solutions that will enable you to plan and drive continuous initiatives for organisational improvement
  • Skill in negotiating, writing and interpreting contractual agreements
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities and ambiguous environments
  • Eligible to work permanently in Australia
  • Ability work in their Bibra Lake location
