Our Melbourne BMW Bodyshop is looking for a professional and experienced Automotive Panel Shop Manager to join our developed team.

Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal - Melbourne BMW, your key responsibilities will include:

Key responsibilities;

  • Securing new business and maintaining existing clients
  • Preparing and administering an annual operating budget
  • Monitoring and managing staff workload and performance ensuring the shop is running effectively and efficiently
  • Liaising and negotiating with insurance companies whilst maintaining a healthy relationship
  • Assist with estimates with repairs on damaged vehicles
  • Parts ordering
  • Meeting & greeting customers, handling their enquiries and related issues
  • Job invoicing and data entry
  • Quality control and vehicle handover
  • Ensure that all work areas and customer waiting areas are kept at a premium level
  • Ability to drive results whilst maintaining staff loyalty
  • Monitor the maintenance of paint booths, body alignment jigs, and other large fixed assets to ensure long-term usage and value
  • Ensure compliance with training standards for autobody and BMW Australia
  • And any additional task as assigned

Specific skills required;

  • Previous experience in Prestige Automotive (Panel) Industry
  • Previous experience with automotive quoting software Auto Quote, I Body
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with staff, assessors and suppliers alike
  • High level of personal commitment and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to meet Budget & KPI targets
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Professional presentation
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Panel Shop team, keeping them engaged and motivated
  • Spending time on the shop floor overseeing works and giving direction and advice as necessary
