Administration Officer (Lakeland)

Location: LAKELAND, 4day week, Mon-Thurs (38hours), Permanent Full Time Position.

About the Company

The Mackay Group is a family farming business that has been in operation for 75 years. The farming business has diversified to produce bananas, papaya, sugarcane, cattle and avocados.  The business is directed by the familys 3rd generation. The Mackay Group is the largest banana producer in Australia, employing more than 500 people. This vertically integrated business also deals in ripening and wholesale marketing of their own produce, as well as other growers.

The Mackay Group is currently seeking an Administration Officer to join the team at our Gold Tyne Farm, Lakeland.

Reporting directly to the Farm Manager, you will receive full support and guidance to achieve success in this role.  This is a permanent Full Time Position.

Main Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls and manage enquiries to ensure they are dealt with efficiently
  • Induct all new employees and follow up to ensure HR / Payroll department receive all necessary paperwork
  • Monitor farm orders and ensure all load paperwork is given priority and completed on time
  • Work with Shed Manager to ensure packing records are kept up to date and are available for Farm Manager review
  • Ensure fuel register up to date weekly
  • Action time and attendance daily with any discrepancies investigated
  • Order of stock such as stationary, cleaning items, first aid, farm equipment etc
  • Any other ad hoc duties as needed

Skill Requirements

  • Previous administration experience 
  • Effective communication skills
  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise
