Civil Consulting Engineer - Northern NSW

Willow + Sparrow is a growing engineering consultancy with a successful reputation throughout Northern NSW and the Gold Coast. The company commenced in 2016 and is growing rapidly and is in need of capable civil engineers to assist with the growing demands. 

Our team have all worked in both the public and private sectors and have experience in the planning, design, and construction of minor and major projects involving road rehabilitation and upgrades, storm water, sub-divisions, potable water, recycled water and sewerage infrastructure.

We are currently seeking civil engineers with experience ranging between 3 to 10 years. Ideally we are after self motivated engineers able to work from home and autonomously. You must have the ability to learn and communicate well and be motivated. You must currently live in the Northern Rivers region or be willing to relocate so you can attend client and team meetings when required. Ideally you will have CAD design experience and project management skills. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Play an active role in the design space across a variety of infrastructure projects. Be able to operate CAD effectively and carry out simple design drafting exercises. Operation of 12D will be looked highly upon.
  • Take the lead and operate independently as you support a variety of key clients and nurture your network to develop future market opportunities.
  • Harness your background to provide technical guidance and consulting in critical areas; field investigations and provide engineering solutions, and be capable of technical reporting.
  • Collaborate with the team and enjoy the opportunity to partner with a multidisciplinary team of technical professionals.

What you will bring to the team Essential Criteria: 

  • Obtain a bachelor of civil engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Have between 3 and 10 years industry experience as an engineer.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and be motivated.
  • Well-developed skills in Microsoft Office and other relevant software packages.
  • High-level interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence key decision makers and achieve project deliverables on time.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to deliver numerous projects at once.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy report writing skills.
  • Private consulting experience and exposure to working with local government.
  • Experience supervising contractors, consultants and administering contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing engineering reports, management plans and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with stakeholder engagement.
  • Two references are required.
  • Have permanent Australian residency
  • Have a current drivers licence
  • Have a construction white card

We offer:

  • Either a Full-time position or a casual role (minimum: 35 hours per week).
  • Remuneration will be dependent upon skills and experience.
