Our client specialises within the Building Supplies industry and currently has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Operations Manager. This role is responsible for managing warehousing and distribution operations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with Companys policies and vision
Setting and achieving state operations targets in conjunction with the National Operations Manager;
Providing leadership to all state operations staff in the form of achievement of KPIs, operational efficiencies, performance management and compliance to company and legislative policies and procedures
Coach, lead and guide employees to help them achieve on KPI's;
Drive a positive internal culture of high performance
As a member of the operations leadership team, present state achievements and corrective actions against KPIs; contribute to national planning and continuous improvement for the operations department.
Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements
Developing, implementing, enforcing and evaluating policies and procedures
Developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilisation, inventory management and shipping
Maintains receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing optimal operational policies and procedures
Complies with federal, state and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements by ensuring knowledge of legislative requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising National Operations Manager on needed actions
Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
Oversee credit / return compliance in line with national guidelines
Review, implement and monitor continuous improvements across all areas of Branch operations;
Briefing Warehouse Leadership group on the issues for that particular day
Monitor and report on customer KPIs and liaising with sales team and state / national operations as required
Report against monthly KPIs, including preparation of warehouse KPI incentive outcomes for monthly payroll processing
Oversee delivery against customer requirements including correct product delivery, on time and with no damage
Promote exceptional service standards and new behaviours to promote a customer focused culture;
Monitor activity and identifying corrective actions;
Liaising with Account Managers to address and resolve any product or customer issues.
Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures and analysing variances and initiating corrective actions as necessary; and
Planning and reviewing compensation actions.
