Lions Outback Vision (LOV) was established in 2010 with the support of LEI and the University of Western Australia.  We are a small but dedicated team of eye health professionals that are firmly committed to improving the eye health of rural, remote and Indigenous West Australians.

The Opportunity

LOV are looking for a motivated and energetic Outreach Logistics Assistant to provide logistics support for optometry and other outreach clinics, and coordination and distribution of spectacles.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling and booking travel and accommodation for LOV staff, consultants and visitors
  • Ordering, Receiving and dispatching patient spectacles according to orders received
  • Supporting the VOS Coordinator in administrative tasks
  • Invoicing and receipting of patient spectacles
  • Preparing weekly outreach itineraries
  • Maintaining accurate patient records in File Maker Pro
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective administration of the VOS and outreach services
  • Respond to patient and telephone queries
  • Comply with Quality, Health and Safety requirements, laws, regulations and company policy/procedures

Selection Criteria

  • Understanding of rural and remote geography
  • Experience in or with regional communities.
  • Experience in coordination of travel and bookings
  • Understanding of and experience working with records management data bases
  • Proficiency in the office suite of systems and google sheets/calendars
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to set priorities, meet deadlines and demonstrate efficient and effective time management and organisation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and show initiative

Desirable

  • Understanding the principles of invoicing and receipting of goods.
  • Experience working in a cross cultural environment.
  • Understanding of supply chain and logistics
  • Understanding of patient referral systems
  • Previous experience in retail optometry or optical dispensing.
  • Knowledge of outreach optometry services
  • Ability for some travel if required
