Administrative Assistant - Accounting Firm

A very reputable and consistently growing accounting firm, located in Melbourne's CBD are searching for an administrator with a positive can do attitude and has previous experience in an accounting administrative role, to join their largest and most profitable team.

The role will be assisting 3 senior managers as well as the wider team, and will require someone who is self-motivated, uses their initiative and has strong workflow management skills. A good part of the role is interacting with clients so someone who is confident in calling and speaking with clients is a must. 

The candidate 

  • 1-2 years experience as an administrator in an accounting firm 
  • XERO experience will be highly favorable 
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills 
  • Very organised and a great multi-tasker 
  • Positive attitude - "no task is too small"

The role 

  • Strong client interaction via phone & email 
  • Client onboarding, offboarding and maintaining database 
  • General adhoc tasks, mail, appointment setting 
  • WIP monitoring and invoice drafting
  • Lodgments, including income tax, activity statement and payroll tax lodgements
  • Liaising with the ATO to organise lodgement deferrals, payment arrangements, penalty and interest remissions
  • Preparation of ASIC annual review mail out and monitoring due dates & reminders
